NSHE community mourns loss of former chancellor James E. Rogers

James E. Rogers, a prominent businessman, philanthropist and educational leader, died Saturday, June 14, after a long battle with cancer. Rogers served as the ninth chancellor of the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) from 2005 through 2009, after serving one year as interim chancellor.

Nevada receives grant from Robert Wood Johnson to transform health care through nursing

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) announced that the Nevada Action Coalition will be part of a $4.5 million initiative, the Future of Nursing State Implementation Program. The program is helping states prepare the nursing profession to address our nation's most pressing health care challenges -- access, quality, and cost. RWJF announced ten states that are joining the program this month; it launched with 20 states in February.

Nevada higher education to start process for new Las Vegas medical school
