Go to College
The Nevada System of Higher Education recently distributed the third edition of “The College Journey” poster for K-12 students and parents. The brochure provides an organized guide to attending college in Nevada and aims to alleviate the stress for preparing for college.
Created with students, parents, and school administrators in mind, the poster lists milestones and suggestions for academic achievement and sets a timeline for the entire college admissions process. Posters in both English and Spanish were distributed to all Nevada school districts, as well as the Washoe County Education Collaborative. We offer our deepest thanks to the following organizations that sponsored the project:
- EdFund
- Education Collaborative of Washoe County
- Cox Communications
- Nevada State Parent Information & Resource Center
- The Nevada Public Education Foundation
According to Vice Chancellor Jane Nichols, the poster “provides critical information on a number of college-centered topics, including financial assistance, the Millennium Scholarship, apprenticeship programs, and important Web sites and telephone numbers, as well as advises students to begin their quest for academic achievement early.”
