Nick Vaskov was appointed by Chancellor John White as the interim vice chancellor for legal affairs in October 2016. He also serves as the System’s director of real estate planning, a position he has held since September 2013. Mr. Vaskov also served as NSHE system counsel during this time. He has more than ten years of experience in both the private and public sector in a broad range of areas, including real estate transactions and finance, commercial litigation, zoning/land use, and real property development.
Prior to joining NSHE in 2013, Mr. Vaskov served the City of North Las Vegas for seven years in various positions, including acting city attorney, assistant city attorney, and senior deputy city attorney. He also served as an associate attorney in private law.
Mr. Vaskov graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a bachelor of science degree in 1998. He then attended UNLV’s William S. Boyd School of Law, earning a juris doctor in 2002. Mr. Vaskov currently serves as a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of College and University Law for the National Association of College and University Attorneys.
He and his wife, Tiffany, have twin daughters and a son.
