The Board of Regents met in the Office of President Clark at 10
o'clock Saturday morning December 30, 1922. There were present
Regents Pratt, Hood and Talbot, Regent-Elect Williams, President
Clark and Comptroller Gorman.
List No. 15, Regents Checks Nos. 2106 to 2113 for the net sum of
$9,960.96 was approved, on motion of Judge Talbot. Vote:

On motion of Mrs. Hood the minutes of October 31st, November 29th
and December 22nd were approved. Vote:

President Clark read a telegram from Clarence H. Mackay in which
he extended his Christmas and New Year greetings to the Univer-
sity.
President Clark recommended, at the suggestion of Professor
Frandsen, that the student hospital fee for the coming semester
be reduced from $2 to $1 and remain at this figure until further
notice. Mrs. Hood moved the adoption of the President's recom-
mendation. Vote:

President Clark read letter of acceptance from Alfred L. Higgin-
botham of position as Instructor in English for coming semester.
President Clark recommended that this University exempt officers
and enlisted men of the United States Army and Navy* or their
children from the non-resident tuition fee charged by this Uni-
versity. Judge Talbot made the motion. Vote:

*(who are in active service) was added after the word "Navy" by
the Board of Regents at their January 31, 1930 meeting (see
Page 60, Vol. 5, Regents Minutes).
Judge Talbot moved that the Board express its appreciation for
the presence of Regent-Elect Frank Williams at this meeting.

Vice Chairman Pratt submitted the report of the Regents for the
biennium just closing. The Secretary was instructed to wire
Mr. North for permission to affix his signature to the report.
The Board then adjourned. The organization meeting of the Re-
gents is to be held in the President's Office on Tuesday morn-
ing at 10 o'clock (January 2, 1923).
