The Regents met in the Office of the President at 11 o'clock
Wednesday morning, December 14, 1921.  All members of the Board,
President Clark and Comptroller Gorman were present.

On motion of Regent Pratt, List No. 15, for Regents' Checks Nos.
1101-1106 inclusive, for a total of $29,153.96, and List No. 16,
covering State Claims, Nos. 141 to 149 inclusive, for the net
sum of $15,804.26, were approved by the following vote:

At the request of Dean Stewart of the College of Agriculture,
President Clark recommended that certain members of the Exten-
sion Division have academic rank as follows:

    Cecil W. Creel           Professor of Agricultural Exten-
                             sion in the College of Agriculture
    Merle D. Collins         Associate Professor of Agricultural
                             Extension in the College of Agri-
                             culture
    Mary Stilwell            Associate Professor of Agricultural
                             Extension in the College of Agri-
                             culture

Motion by Mr. North.  Vote:

President Clark announced the gift of a scholarship fund of $1000
to be available to students who excel in Mathematics, given by
Mrs. Sophie E. Williams of Hot Springs Ranch, Nye County, Nevada,
in memory of her daughter Marje Williams Butler, who graduated
from the Normal School of the University in 1899.  The Board
desired to express its formal recognition of this gift of Mrs.
Williams in a letter to be signed by all the members of the Board
at their next meeting.

President Clark recommended that the Regents renew their arrange-
ment with Boyd Moore of the Nevada News Letter and pay him $75
for 100 copies of the Special Edition of the News Letter now in
progress of preparation and in which will appear an article on
the University illustrated with airplane views of the Campus,
these cuts to be furnished by Mr. Moore.  The regular University
advertisement will also appear.  Mr. North made the motion.

The Regents expressed their commendation of Comptroller Gorman
for his valuable services in connection with heating plant im-
provements and the installation of the spur track from the
Western Pacific Railroad.

At the request of Superintendent Lynch and Comptroller Gorman,
the President recommended that, beginning with January 1, 1922,
Mr. J. Williams be placed on the regular payroll at a monthly
pay of $125.  Mr. Pratt made the motion.  Vote:

President Clark made a brief report on his trip to Los Angeles,
New Orleans, Washington and New York City, November 1st to
December 5th, inclusive.
