The December meeting of the Board of Regents was called to order
at 10:30 A.M. in the Office of the President by Acting Chairman

Present: Regents Baker, O'Brien and Sullivan and Acting Presi-
dent Lewers. Absent: Regents Curler and Chairman Abel.

Acting President Lewers gave an informal report on the status
of the Agricultural building, stating there had been some delay
owing to the fact that the joists had not arrived. He stated
that he had sent Mr. Gorman back to San Francisco to look after
getting a car and had told him to stay until he succeeded. The
Priority Committee had promised the first car in to be loaded
for the University. It was expected to have the lumber here
possibly by Friday. All other materials were on hand and as
soon as the joists could be received there would be no further

The matter of storm doors on the President's house, Mr. Lewers
advised, was being held until President Clark's arrival on the
20th. The probable cost is $200.

Mr. Lewers reported that the military situation at the Univer-
sity looked as though we might lose the R. O. T. C. on account
of the diminishing number of men students. He reported that
Major Ryan and he had taken the matter up with the War Depart-
ment and they advised that the Unit would not be disturbed for
the present, although they wished the number of students re-
ported to them from time to time, this being granted on the
fact that such a large number of boys had gone into the U. S.

No formal action was taken on any matters and the Board recessed
until December 21 at 10 o'clock that President Clark might be
