The Board of Regents met at 9:30 o'clock A.M., Thursday, Decem-
ber 3, 1903. Present: Regents Booher, Kirman and the newly
appointed Regent, Professor John Edward Bray.
Minutes of November 7th and 17th read and approved.
Professor Bray presented his Certificate of Appointment and Oath
of Office, which was accepted and filed.
Upon motion of W. W. Booher, seconded by J. E. Bray, Richard
Kirman was elected President of the Board.
Upon motion of Regent Bray, duly seconded and carried, the name
of the building known as the Girls' Cottage was changed to
Manzanita Hall.
Upon motion of Regent Bray, seconded by Regent Booher, Faculty
Committee was authorized to appoint the Alumni Committee to the
University Celebration. Ladies' Committee to be selected placed
with the faculty.
The President of the University authorized to place fenders in
the fire places of Manzanita Hall.
On motion of Regent Booher, seconded by Regent Bray, the Presi-
dent of the University was instructed to make up payrolls for
monthly salaries on the 28th of each month and hand to Secretary
of the Board not later than the first of each month in time to
issue checks for same the day the Board meets.
Moved, seconded and carried that the President have seats with
brackets for support placed in the Girls' Cottage.
Moved, seconded and carried that the President get up letter
heads and envelopes for use of the Girls' Cottage and have 2500
placed with the Matron and sold to the girls at cost.
Regent Booher took the Chair and Regent Kirman moved, seconded
by Regent Bray, that the Farmers and Merchants Bank be made
Treasurer of half the Morrill Fund and that the Secretary be
directed to keep the funds divided as nearly as possible between
the two Treasurers.
