The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Regents was held this
day. Present: J. D. Torreyson, H. L. Fish, Governor Colcord and
E. T. George. Absent: J. W. Haines.
Minutes of the meeting held were read and approved.
Mr. Richard Brown was authorized to secure an engine from Mr.
Winters, cost not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00), same
to be used in the Mechanical Work Shop and to be paid from appro-
priated funds.
The services of Donald Mc Kay was ordered dispensed with from
November 1, 1892 until further orders.
The President of the University read his report for the month of
October. He reports having visited each Professor, his Depart-
ment, most of them a number of times. The attendance in classes
was good. Students with few exceptions had well prepared lessons
and were giving strict attention to the subjects under consider-
ation and were doing very satisfactory work.
It was ordered that partitions be taken out of Mining Laboratory
building except one room on the 3rd floor and removed to the
second floor of the Mechanical building.
Claims were allowed as follows:
From the Ag & Mechanical College Fund $3,251.65
From the Contingent University Fund 388.66
No further business appearing, the Board adjourned to meet
Saturday, December 3rd, 1892.
