The Board of Regents met at their Office at 9:30 A.M., Thursday,
October 11, 1906. Present Regents W. W. Booher and H. S.
Starrett and President Stubbs. Absent Regent O. J. Smith.
The reading of the minutes of meeting held September 1, 1906
was dispensed with.
Upon motion, duly seconded, the President of the University was
authorized to have Cheney Massey & Price, attorneys, draw a
contract between Mr. Clarence H. Mackay of New York City and
the Northwestern Construction Company for the erection of the
Mining building, the same to be submitted to President Stubbs
before forwarding to Mr. Mackay for execution.
The appointment of Professor Robert Lewers as Dean of the Uni-
versity by President Stubbs was upon motion approved. The Pres-
ident was authorized to make arrangements to have his class work
done in the University until January 1, 1907.
President Stubbs made a report on his recent trip to New York
City and his conference with Mr. Mackay about the Mining build-
ing with the result that Mr. Mackay had agreed to increase the
gift for the completion of the building according to the orig-
inal plans to Seventy Thousand dollars.
No further business, the Board adjourned to meet Saturday,
October 27, 1906.
