The Board of Regents met at 10 o'clock A.M. Saturday, October 4,
1902. Present W. W. Booher and J. N. Evans. Absent W. E. F.

Minutes of meeting held August 25, 1902 approved as read.
Upon the recommendation of President Stubbs, Mr. Romanzo Adams
was elected as Professor of Education and Sociology at an annual
salary of Eighteen Hundred dollars, payable monthly, commencing
with January 1, 1903.
Upon the recommendation of President Stubbs, Gordon H. True was
elected Professor of Animal Husbandry of the Experiment Station
at an annual salary of Eighteen Hundred dollars, payable monthly,
commencing with January 1, 1903.
It was moved, seconded and carried, that the salaries of Profes-
sor N. E. Wilson, J. E. Church and Robert Lewers be increased to
Two Thousand dollars per annum, to take effect from and after
January 1, 1903, payable monthly, and Dr. P. B. Kennedy Eighteen
Hundred dollars per annum, to take effect January 1, 1903, pay-
able monthly.
Miss Anna H. Martin was elected Instructor to lecture in History
of Art at a salary of Twenty dollars per month from September 1,
1902.
Professor N. E. Wilson was granted a leave of absence for one
month and appointed delegate to attend the Convention of Agri-
cultural Colleges and Experiment Stations to be held at Atlanta,
Georgia.
The resignation of Professor Henry R. Evans as Instructor in
University Extension Work at Virginia City was received and
accepted, to take effect September 25, 1902.
It was moved, seconded and carried that Mr. Alexander Wise be
appointed Instructor in University Extension Work at Virginia
City temporarily, at a salary of $75.00 per month from October
1, 1902.
Professor Stubbs was authorized to employ Mr. Geo. H. Raven as
Instructor in University Extension Work at Virginia City.
Upon motion of Regent Booher, it was ordered that the degree of
B. S. be conferred upon Geo. Springmeyer with the Class of 1902.
Bids for the furnishing of wood were received as follows:
R. Mc Menamin - 60 cords dry slabs delivered as per adver-
tisement at $4.00 per cord.
Ben A. Evans - 250 cords good 4-foot split pine wood
delivered on University grounds according
to advertisement at $5.00 per cord and 60
cords dry 4-foot slab wood at $3.90 per
cord delivered on University grounds.
F. Vogliotti - 250 cords good dry 4-foot split wood deliver-
ed on University grounds according to adver-
tisement at $5.00 per cord.
On motion seconded and carried, Ben A. Evans was awarded the
contract to furnish 60 cords dry slab wood at $3.90 per cord
delivered and F. Vogliotti was awarded the contract to furnish
250 cords dry 4-foot split wood at $5.00 per cord delivered and
piled on University grounds.
