BOARD OF REGENTS
UNIVERSITY OF NEVADA SYSTEM
October 3, 1980
An emergency meeting of the Board of Regents was held on the
above date in the conference room of the Business Services build-
ing, University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Members present: Mr. Chris Karamanos, Chairman Pro Tem
Mrs. Lilly Fong
Mr. John R. Mc Bride
Mr. James L. Buchanan, II
Mrs. June F. Whitley
Others present: Mr. Monte Miller, Valley Bank of Nevada
Mr. Miller explained that he had requested the Board to meet to
consider a recommendation for the sale of 1,300 shares of ASA,
Ltd., a South African gold stock, purchased in August, 1980 at
$58, and which was presently selling at $85. Mr. Miller suggest-
ed the Board consider either selling the stock at market value
on Monday, October 6, or direct the stock be held until or unless
its market value decreased to $83 at which time it would be sold.
Mr. Buchanan moved that the second option be accepted. Motion
seconded by Mr. Mc Bride, carried without dissent.
