The Board of Regents met at 12:00 this day. Present: J. D.
Torreyson, H. L. Fish and Governor Colcord. Absent: J. W.
Haines and C. E. Mack.
Minutes of meeting held September 2 were read and approved.
Balance sheets showing the respective funds on hand that date
also read.
Professor Jackson reported samples received and worked in the
Mining laboratory for September as follows:
On hand Sept. 1 4
Received during month 19
Total 23
Worked in October 15
Not worked 8
Claims were presented and allowed as follows:
Contingent University Fund 1,102.14
Mining Laboratory Fund 200.00
Ag & Mech College Fund 1,700.68
Total $3,002.82
A number of students appeared before the Board and asked
permission to publish a paper which was postponed until full
meeting of the Board.
Adjourned to meet at 7:00 P.M. at the Office of the First
National Bank.
The evening session of the Board was held at the place above
mentioned, the same members being present.
In the matter of Miss Lucy A. Barney, the President of the
University was requested to recommend that she receive a second
grade certification accordance with the State School law.
It was ordered that Professor Lewers occupy for the present the
room he is using.
It was ordered that Miss Bardenwerpen continue to occupy the
room now in use by her and that a door be put in between said
room and the Normal School room.
No further business appearing, the Board adjourned to meet
Saturday, November 4, 1893.
