                       August 29, 1952

A meeting was held in the President's office at the University of
Nevada for the purpose of opening bids on Heating Plant work, as
per specifications prepared by Mr. Mills.

Present were President Stout, Comptroller Hayden, Superintendent
Horn, Architect Mills and representatives of the bidding firms as

    Lloyd Bowen representing Savage and Son
    Clarence Monroe representing himself
    Frank Gorman representing Gardner Supply Company

Mr. Ross and Mr. Hardy were out of town.

The Secretary read the notice advertising for bids for Heating
Plant work which had been duly published in the local papers.

The bids were opened at 4:20 P.M. by President Stout and were
tabulated by the Comptroller as follows:

    Gardner Supply Company - $13,818.00 - work to begin in 10
        days and be completed in 60 days

    Savage and Son - $10,116.00 - work to begin in 5 days and
        be completed in 30 days

    C. J. Monroe - $11,212.33 - work to begin in 4 days and
        be completed in 30 days

The bids were referred to Comptroller Hayden and Architect Mills
for study and recommendation.

The meeting adjourned at 4:30 P.M.

Comptroller Hayden presented the recommendation that the contract
be awarded to Savage and Son, the lowest bidder.
