                        July 31, 1928

Chairman Pratt and Judge Brown met in the President's Office
at 10 o'clock on July 31, 1928.

List No. 20, State Claims Nos. 199-207 inclusive for the net
sum of $18,677.37, and List No. 8, Regents Checks Nos. 8091
to 8101 inclusive for the net sum of $35,032.77, were approved
and signed by these two men, Comptroller Gorman to get Mr.
Wingfield's signature.

Judge Brown made the following motion:

    The request of Mr. Rollin H. Mc Carthy, Assistant Professor
    of Mechanical Engineering, having been presented for a
    leave of absence.

        RESOLVED, that he be granted a leave of absence, without
        pay, for a period of one year from the first of August,
        1928, and that the President be authorized to employ a
        suitable person to fill the vacancy at a salary of not to
        exceed $2500 for the year.

Judge Brown made the following motion:

    Mr. O. J. Mithoug, Instructor in Electrical Engineering,
    having stated that he is about to accept a position else-
    where and that he will forward his resignation as Instructor
    in Electrical Engineering.

        RESOLVED, that the resignation is accepted and that the
        President be authorized to employ in his place Everett
        Harris, or some other suitable person, at a salary of
        $1800 for his initial and probational year, beginning
        August 1, 1928.

These two resolutions were signed by Chairman Pratt and Judge
Brown and the Secretary was instructed to secure the signature
of the 3 absent members in order to make the above actions
official.

O. J. Mithong, Instructor in Electrical Engineering, having
stated that he is about to accept a position elsewhere and that
he will forward his resignation.

RESOLVED, that the resignation is accepted and that the Presi-
dent be authorized to employ in his place Mr. Everett Harris,
or some other suitable person, at a salary of $1800 for his
initial and probational year, beginning August 1, 1928.
