At a meeting of the Board of Regents held this day, a full
Board being present, also President Brown, the following
business was transacted.
The minutes of the meeting held on July 1 were read and approved.
Sealed bids from the following Contractors were opened, read and
ordered placed on file:
A. G. Fletcher & Schaff $16,000.00
F. Kleupfer 18,400.00
James E. Bradshaw 18,000.00
Burke Bros. 15,000.00
M. J. Curtis 17,477.00
On motion of Regent Coffin, E. T. George was appointed Chairman
of this Board until further order of the Board.
On motion of Regent Coffin, the following resolutions were unani-
mously adopted:
RESOLVED, that this Board proceed to the erection of a
dormitory brick building by accepting the bid of Burke Bros.
for Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000), the building to be
completed by March 1, 1890, contractors to give a bond in
the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00), conditioned
for the performance of contract with a penalty of $25.00
per day after March 1, 1890, and that after the building
is completed dormitory accommodations be fitted up in said
building for at least Fifteen students, but not to include
board by the State in any form or under any conditions.
RESOLVED, that the State Board of Education be, and they are
hereby requested to prescribe and cause to be adopted, a
course study in the common schools of this State as provided
in Section 1286 of the General Statutes of Nevada, and that
the Secretary of the Board forward a copy of this resolution
to the State Board of Education.

It was ordered that the President be instructed not to admit any
more than Twenty Five pupils to the Training School until further
order from the Board.
