At a regular meeting of the Board of Regents held this day the
following members were present: Governor Colcord, J. D.
Torreyson, H. L. Fish. Absent: C. E. Mack and J. W. Haines.
Minutes of previous meeting read and approved.
Balance sheets read.
Claims were examined and allowed as follows:
Contingent University Fund 1,548.90
Mining Laboratory Fund 275.00
Ag & Mech College Fund 1,393.40
Total $3,217.30
Requisition of Professor Phillips for supplies laid over.
Application of Miss Clara Taylor as assistant in the Normal
Department ordered placed on file.
Application of Miss Kate Bardenwerpen ordered placed on file.
The Secretary was instructed to notify Professor Phillips that
his salary for extra work at the Mining Laboratory would cease
from July 1 until such time he resumed work at said building.
Upon motion, Professor Jackson was permitted to employ Charles
Brown in the Mining Laboratory building as an assistant, his
compensation to be fixed at next meeting of the Board for the
present month. Upon motion, Professor Jackson was allowed to
employ H. S. Swan in the Mining Laboratory expending not more
than Thirty Dollars for any one month.
Professor Jackson was authorized to take charge of the University
buildings and grounds during the absence of Mr. Brown.
Upon motion, Mr. Brown was permitted to purchase tools and sup-
plies for the Mechanical Department to the extent of Six Hundred
Dollars.
No further business appearing, the Board adjourned to meet
Saturday, the 29th day of July.
