The Regents met at 8:30 P.M. in special session, Tuesday evening,
June 13, 1911, at the home of President Stubbs.  Present were
Regents Reid, Codd and O'Brien.  Absent were Regents Williams
and Henderson.

The meeting was called for the purpose of considering the advisa-
bility of President Stubbs going to New York at the solicitation
of Mr. Mackay to talk over matters in connection with the Uni-

Upon motion of Dr. Reid, seconded by Mr. O'Brien, President
Stubbs was granted a leave of absence for three weeks to visit
Charlottesville, Virginia and New York to confer with Mr. Mackay
at Mr. Mackay's solicitation.

Motion of Mr. O'Brien, seconded by Dr. Reid, that the expenses
of Mr. D. L. Bliss and President Stubbs be paid to visit New York
and Charlottesville to confer with Mr. Mackay, by the University.

Motion of Dr. Reid, seconded by Mr. O'Brien, that the scholarship
of Mr. Zabriskie be accepted and that the President make proper
acknowledgment of same.  According to Mr. Zabriskie's request
this scholarship to be called the H. H. Howe Scholarship.

Motion of Dr. Reid, seconded by Mr. O'Brien, the Chairman author-
ized to confer with the Water Co. with reference to securing more
water for use in the University grounds and report at our next

Motion of Dr. Reid, seconded by Mr. O'Brien, that Mr. E. U.
Hooper be employed as Superintendent of Construction and altera-
tions in old and new buildings at a salary of $150 per month,
beginning with June 16th, to be paid from the Building and
Grounds and New Electrical Building Funds.

Motion of Dr. Reid, seconded by Mr. O'Brien, Chairman of the
Board instructed to have the little Musical building moved from
its present position on the Campus and transferred to a site
beyond the ditch on the east side of the Campus, and arrange
the lower part for the use of Mr. Brown and the upper part for
the use of the Department of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry.

No further business, the meeting adjourned subject to the call
of the Chairman.
