Board of Regents met this 9:00 A.M. Present: J. W. Haines, H.
L. Fish, Governor Colcord and E. T. George. Absent: J. D.
Torreyson.
Minutes of meeting held April 30th were read and approved.
Mr. Brown was authorized to employ one assistant to work on new
building and to make such repairs as he thought necessary on
inside materials at a cost not exceeding Two Hundred Dollars.
In the matter of rooms for Professor Phillips, the committee,
consisting of Professors Jones and Phillips and Mr. Brown,
approved that No. 3 be connected with No. 2 by a doorway on east
side of building.
Mr. Kendall was placed under control of Mr. Brown during vacation
to perform reasonable services.
Mr. Brown was instructed to have Kalsoming done in main school
building and purchase linoleum for library and hall. Cost not
to exceed Three Hundred Dollars and Five Hundred Dollars was
appropriated for tools and implements in the Mechanical workshop.
It was ordered that the water closets on east side of grounds be
renovated and placed over a dump at the expense of the Experiment
Station.
On motion, it was ordered that an instructor be employed at a
salary not to exceed Twelve Hundred Dollars per annum who shall
be competent to teach Latin and in the English Department.
It was ordered that shelves may be placed on the north wall of
Office Room No. 2 in the main building for books and chemical
specimens.
On motion, Professor Miller was authorized to purchase necessary
apparatus for the inspection of diseases of cattle at a cost not
to exceed Three Hundred Dollars.
No further business appearing, the Board adjourned to meet
Saturday, July 9, 1892.
