At a special meeting of the Board of Regents, held in the Library
of the University, there were present Regents Stevenson, Dovey
and Dormer, with President Brown in attendance.
Upon motion of Regent Dovey the following resolution was adopted:
RESOLVED, that the Nevada Agricultural Experiment Stations
be permitted to use all the real estate belonging to the
Nevada University, except the University buildings and the
approaches thereto.
Vote stood as follows: Regent Stevenson, aye; Regent Dovey,
aye; Regent Dormer, aye.
Regent Dovey moved that the road, as marked upon the University
map, be completed as soon as practical. The motion prevailed.
President Brown was authorized to plow and put in order all
grounds and walks of the University, and for that purpose that
Mr. Mc Farland be employed at wages of $2.25 per day, as Farmer.
Upon motion of Regent Dovey, the sum of $6,000 be set aside from
the Experiment Station fund for salaries; $3,000 for building;
$2,000 for Chemical and Botanical Department; $500 for Library of
Books; $1,000 for wagon, cart, harnesses, plows, scraper, harrow,
horses, and other necessaries; $1,500 for Horticultural Depart-
ment; $500 for Weather Stations; $500 for other expenses.
Upon motion of Regent Dovey, P. B. Ellis was selected Secretary
of the Nevada Agricultural Experiment Station from May 1, 1888,
to December 31, 1888, at salary of $25 per month.
Upon motion of Regent Dormer it was ordered that the supplemen-
tary deed, drawn by General Irish, be presented to supplementary
signature, and then placed on record by the County Recorder.
