The Board of Regents met at their Office Monday, June 1, 1903,
at 9 o'clock A.M. Present: Regents Evans and Booher. Absent:
Regent Kirman.
President Stubbs nominated Mr. John A. Reid as acting Professor
of Geology in the absence of Professor Louderback at an annual
salary of Twelve Hundred dollars ($1200), commencing September 1,
1903, which, upon motion, was approved.
President Stubbs recommended that Mr. Joseph Alfred Williams be
granted the degree of M. A., which was upon motion granted.
President Stubbs recommended that Mr. Emmett A. Boyle and Arthur
P. Mack be granted the degrees of Mining Engineer, which upon
motion was granted.
The Secretary of the Board was authorized to advertise in the
Nevada State Journal and the Evening Telegram for 250 cords of
4-foot split Pine wood and 60 cords 4-foot slab wood to be de-
livered piled and measured on the University grounds in the
months of July, August and September. Said bids to be filed
with the Board not later than 8 o'clock A.M., June 15, 1903.
Upon the recommendation of President Stubbs, Professor Lewis A.
Darling was made Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering.
Upon the recommendation of President Stubbs, Professor Peter
Frandsen was given full Professorship at an annual salary of
Eighteen Hundred dollars, payable monthly commencing September 1,
1903.
On motion, Mr. Richard Brown was ordered to repair the broken
wash bowls and bath tubs in the Girls' Cottage and all chairs
in the Shop that can be repaired before the 15th of June next.
President Stubbs submitted the names of the candidates for de-
grees recommended by the faculty from the seven Schools as fol-
lows:
