The Board of Regents met at the home of President Stubbs, May
31, 1905, at 3 o'clock P.M., a full Board being present.
President Stubbs nominated Mr. J. R. Johnson as Professor of
Mathematics and Mechanics to take charge of Professor Thurtell's
work during his absence at an annual salary of Eighteen Hundred
dollars, and his expenses of moving from Lexington to Reno, to
take effect September 1, 1905. Upon motion of Regent Booher,
seconded by Regent Starrett, the above nomination of Professor
Johnson was approved.
The Chairman of the Board was requested to get the opinion of
Messrs. Cheney and Massey, attorneys, with reference to allowing
extras to the contractors of the Metallurgy building, without
first advertising for bids.
