EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING
May 16, 1955
The Executive Committee of the Board of Regents met in the Pres-
ident's office on Monday, May 16, 1955. Present: Regents Hardy,
Lombardi, Thompson, Ross; and President Stout. The meeting was
called to order by the Chairman at 5:15 P.M.
Thomas E. Buckman
Mr. Buckman had been notified by the Secretary of the meeting
called for this date and of his opportunity to present mate-
rial, in person or in writing. A written reply was received
from Mr. Buckman as a reply to the letters of Dean Bertrand
and President Stout recommending his retirement. The sealed
envelope was opened at the beginning of the meeting and con-
tained copies for each Regent and for the President. The
material was read and discussed. President Stout reaffirmed
his recommendation that Mr. Buckman be retired as of June
30, 1955.
Motion by Mr. Hardy carried unanimously that the President's
recommendation be approved and that in the meantime the
matter be submitted to the Attorney General for his opinion
and advice.
Agricultural Building Plans
The plans, as submitted by Architect Parsons, were presented
to the Regents.
Motion by Mr. Thompson carried unanimously that approval be
given to study #6 to the extent that it shows the proposed
layout of the College of Agriculture building on the lower
Campus and that the architect be instructed to go ahead with
that portion of the plans.
Capurro Property
A letter addressed to the Board of Regents, dated May 12,
1955, written by Sidney Robinson on behalf of Mr. Victor
Capurro, was received. The Secretary was instructed to
acknowledge receipt of the letter and to notify the writer
that it would be considered at the next regular meeting of
the Board of Regents to be held in June 1955.
The meeting adjourned at 7:25 P.M.
