The Executive Committee of the Board of Regents met in the Pres-
ident's office at 4:30 P.M., May 14, 1951. Present: Regents
Hardy, Lombardi, Ross; Comptroller Hayden, Superintendent Horn,
President Love. Present also were representatives from the
bidding firms.

The meeting was called for the purpose of opening bids for the
Astronomical Observatory building, in accord with the newspaper
article calling for such bids at this time on this date:

Three sealed bids were received and opened by Chairman Ross as

1) Walter Boudwin Construction Company $5,091.08
Foundation work for Alternate 2 Alternate 1 43.00
Brick veneer Alternate 2 131.04
Metal door Alternate 3 63.63

2) Wade H. Wine $5,288.00
Alternate 1 82.00
Alternate 2 379.00
Alternate 3 62.00

3) Weil Construction Company $5,055.21
Alternate 1 46.86
Alternate 2 273.00
Alternate 3 73.53

All the above bids were accompanied by the required bonds.

By unanimous agreement, the bids were referred to the Comptroller
and the architect, Russell Mills, for codification and recommen-
dation to the Board.

The bid of Walker Boudwin Construction Company was accepted and
telephone approval received from the members of the Executive
Committee with instruction that the President sign the required
paper and that the bid be let.
