The Board of Regents met at 12:00 this day. Present: Governor
Colcord, H. L. Fish and J. D. Torreyson. Absent: J. W. Haines
and C. E. Mack.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Balance sheets of Contingent University Mining Laboratory and
Agricultural & Mechanical College Funds read.
Communication from C. E. Mack stating he could not attend the
meeting of the Board read.
Upon motion, it was ordered that all mail orders for supplies and
for the University and Experiment Station shall be signed by the
President of the University and by no other person before being
sent out.
Mr. Brown was authorized to purchase a lawn mower to cost about
$15.00 to $20.00.
Application of J. E. Church for an increase of salary was denied
for the present.
Miss Clapp proposed the naming of the Dormitory building. No
action was taken.
Mr. Brown asked for compensation for his boys in the Mechanic
Arts building for work on Saturdays to the extent of Twenty
Dollars, which was allowed.
The President was authorized to grant a further requisition to
Professor Miller for his Laboratory for One Hundred to One
Hundred and Fifty Dollars.
C. C. Powning as President of the Reno Water Land & Light Company
submitted a proposition for furnishing the arc and incandescent
lights at the University grounds and buildings which was accepted
and ordered. See document on file in safe of the Regents Office.
On motion, Mr. Brown was directed to make an inventory of the
furniture and content of the different University buildings.
Mr. Fish was authorized to purchase the piano now in use at the
University from Mr. Brooking, price not to exceed Two Hundred
Twenty Five Dollars.
Claims were allowed as follows:
From Ag & Mech College Fund 1,680.20
From Ag & Mech College Fund 44.80
From Contingent University Fund 2,516.36
From Mining Laboratory Fund 236.94
Total $4,505.30
No further business appearing, the Board adjourned to meet
June 2,1893.
