EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING
April 15, 1952

The Executive Committee of the Board of Regents met in the
President's office on Tuesday, April 15, 1952. The meeting was
called to order by the Chairman at 4:05 P.M. Present: Regents
Lombardi, Hardy, Ross; Architect Russell Mills, Comptroller
Hayden, President Love.

Remodeling of Lincoln Hall was discussed generally with Mr.
Mills. Mr. Hayden and Mr. Mills recommended that the bid for
the work be awarded to Mr. R. E. Hansen, lowest bidder.

Motion by Dr. Lombardi carried unanimously that the contract for
the remodeling work in Lincoln Hall be let to Mr. R. E. Hansen
of Reno, whose bid of $95,016.32 was low, and further, that the
specifications on the Heating Plant in Lincoln Hall be checked by
an independent and competent engineer for size of piping, size
of boilers, kind of burners and kind of oil.

Regent Crumley was reached by phone at 2:05 P.M. on April 17,
1952 and Regent Arentz was on the Campus on April 17, 1952 - both
approved the above action of the Executive Committee.

After reviewing the problem of reconstructing the Heating Plant
and reviewing the proposal of Mr. Mills of November 14, 1951,
which was approved by the Board of Regents on January 4, 1952,

Motion by Mr. Hardy carried unanimously that the action of the
Board on January 4, 1952 to proceed with the work of the Heating
Plant be reaffirmed, with the understanding that the two boilers
on the site and any other materials on hand be used in the re-
modeling job.

Regent Crumley was reached by phone at 2:05 P.M. on April 17,
1952 and Regent Arentz was on the Campus on April 17, 1952 -
both approved the above action of the Executive Committee.

Personnel - Agricultural Extension Division

Motion by Mr. Hardy carried unanimously that the following
appointments be confirmed:

(1) Mr. Grover Walter Roberts, Jr. as Assistant County
Extension Agent for Elko County, effective April 1,
1952, at a salary of $3900 per year.

(2) Mr. James Wade Orchard as Assistant County Extension
Agent for Clark County, effective April 1, 1952, at a
salary of $3900 per year.

President Love invited the members of the Executive Committee to
meet with the Committee on Accrediting of the Engineers Council
for Professional Development, at 10 A.M. on Monday, April 21.

The meeting adjourned at 6:20 P.M.
