The Board of Regents met at their Office on Saturday, March 14,

1896, at 9 o'clock A.M.. Present: W. E. F. Deal, H. L. Fish and

H. S. Starrett.

Regent Deal offered the following Preamble Resolution and on

motion of Regent Starrett, was adopted:

WHEREAS, Mr. Richard Brown, Instructor in Mechanics of the

State University, has in addition to the faithful performance

of his duties as Instructor deligently and efficiently do-

nated his time and experience in supervising the construction

of the buildings authorized by the last Legislature, as well

as the construction of the Mechanical building, in place of

the building lately destroyed by fire; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that this Board hereby send their thanks to Mr.

Brown for his services and that this Preamble and Resolution

be spread upon the minutes.

Burke Bros. appeared before the Board exhibiting vouchers showing

all claims against the Girls Dormitory building settled and a

claim of $2075.00. The balance due on contract of said building

was orderded allowed.

President Stubbs was requested to offer to Scheeline & Osborne,

Agents, insurance as follows:

2500.00 on furniture and fixtures in Lincoln Hall

1000.00 on furniture and fixtures in Girls Cottage

at a rate not to exceed 1% for 3 years.
