                         March 1, 1919

The Executive Committee of the Board of Regents met at 2 o'clock,
March 1, 1919, in the President's Office, Chairman Cheney presid-
ing.

The following members were present in addition to the Chairman:
Mrs. Hood and Mr. North.

The minutes of the meeting of the Executive Committee of January
30 were read and with a slight typographical correction stood
approved as read.

Mr. North reported with reference to the matter of traveling
expense for the Board of Visitors and upon motion it was deemed
advisable that no further action be taken in the matter at the
present time.

The matter of presentation of Claims was taken up and Comptroller
Gorman placed before the Committee Claims for signature and also
Checks and supporting lists.  The Committee approved the follow-
ing upon motion:

    List of Claims #2 covering Checks 10 to 19 inclusive for a
    total of $19,435.15.

    List of Claims #2 against the State of Nevada covering State
    Claims Nos. 12 to 21 inclusive for a total of $9,865.58.

Checks 10 to 19 as per list #2 were signed by the Chairman of the
Board.

At the request of the Chairman the President gave report on leg-
islative matters.  He stated that in his opinion matters were
progressing favorably.  He reported on a visit of the Joint Ways
and Means Committee to the University on February 22, various
bills concerning the University were discussed informally, par-
ticularly the bill concerning the President's cottage.

Comptroller Gorman reported on the visit of the Joint Ways and
Means Committee of the Legislature to his office on February
22.  He also gave to the Executive Committee a synopsis of
the working of the University Requisition and Order System.

There being no further business to come before the Committee,
the meeting adjourned.
