The Chairman of the Board, Judge Talbot and Judge Brown, to-
gether with President Clark, met in the President's Office for
the regular month-end business meeting of the Board.
List No. 3 of State Claims, Nos. 22 to 31, for the sum of
$23,556.07, and List No. 3, Regents Checks, Nos. 7022 to 7036,
for the net sum of $50,140.85, on motion of Judge Brown, were
approved for payment by the following vote:

On the recommendation of Miss Wier, President Clark recommended
that Erastus A. Hansen be employed as Instructor in History at
a salary of $1750 for the single year beginning August 1, 1927,
understanding that this appointment is to last merely during
the leave of Mr. Hicks, as approved January 31, 1927. Judge
Brown moved the adoption of the President's recommendation.

On the recommendation of Director Fulton of the Mackay School
of Mines, President Clark recommended that Mr. Gianella's
leave be extended to include an additional year, that is, the
University year 1927-28. Mr. Gianella has completed one year
of graduate work at Yale, transferred to Columbia, where he
completed an additional year of work and finds that, in order
to obtain his Doctor of Philosophy degree at Columbia, he will
need the additional year for which he asks. Judge Brown moved
the adoption of the President's recommendation. Vote:

Since Mr. Mithoug's appointment on the staff of the Department
of Electrical Engineering, it is desirable that Mr. Mc Carthy
be transferred to the Mechanical Engineering Department. At
the request of Dean Sibley of the College of Engineering, Pres-
ident Clark asked that a motion be made giving Mr. Mc Carthy
the title of Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering in
place of Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering. Judge
Brown moved that Mr. Mc Carthy's title be Assistant Professor
of Mechanical Engineering. Vote:

On the recommendation of the University faculty, President Clark
recommended that the Regents formally authorize the conferring
of the indicated degrees to the following men who have finished
their University work at the end of last semester:
Bachelor of Arts in Arts and Science
Ernest Brown
William D. Malloy
Lester Walter
Bachelor of Science in Arts and Science
George C. Cooley
Babu Lall Manrow
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
Carroll Carrington
Bachelor of Science in Mines
William Maxwell
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
George Fairbrother
Judge Talbot moved that the granting of the respective degrees
be authorized. Vote:

Judge Talbot moved that the Regents offer as a donation to the
City of Reno 100 of the Scotch pines, Norway spruce and Austral-
ian pines on the University grounds and 100 or more of the
Ponderosa pines, ash, walnut and other deciduous trees at the
Experiment Station Farm for the purpose of beautifying the City
parks and Exposition grounds. Vote:
