The Regents met in their Office at the University for a special
meeting on Saturday, February 27, 1909, at 11 o'clock. Present:
Chairman John Sunderland, Regents Codd and Henderson, and Pres-
ident Stubbs.
Upon the recommendation of the President, Regent Henderson moved
that Joseph Alphonse Nadon should be granted his degree of B. S.
in Mechanical Engineering. The motion was seconded by Regent
Codd. So carried.
President Stubbs told the Regents that the Committee of the
House and Senate on University Investigation is to meet at the
Overland Hotel in the evening at 8 o'clock and that he has asked
the Committee to receive them in a body rather than as individu-
als, and thinks there is no doubt about the Committee doing this.
The President also read sections of his report to the Committee
in regard to the amount of money the University has received
from the State. Also read confidential letter from Mr. Mackay
and asked for a leave of absence for four weeks either in March
or April in order that he may go to New York and to Washington
to look after University matters.
Moved by Regent Henderson, seconded by Regent Codd, that the
President be granted a leave of absence for four weeks anytime
in March or April to visit New York in the interests of the
University.
The payrolls for the month of February on the State and the A & M
Fund, and the Hatch and Adams Funds were signed.
Adjourned to meet on the 13th of March.
