Board of Regents met at noon. Present: Governor Colcord, E. T.
George and H. L. Fish and S. A. Jones President.
Minutes of meeting held January 30th read and approved.
Claims allowed against the Contingent University Fund amounted
to Six Hundred Nineteen Dollars and Forty Six Cents ($619.46)
and Mining Laboratory Fund, Sixty Dollars ($60.00), totalling
$679.46. Agricultural and Mechanical College Fund total
$2,228.82 as per journal entries.
Presentation of matter of catalogue of 1892, discussed. Communi-
cation from Professor Cowgill read and considered. Professors
Hillman and Thurtell appeared relative to change in catalogue.
Professor Cowgill was called relative to catalogue and his hours
of work.
Richard Brown asked permission to construct an addition to the
Mechanical Arts building. Cost not to exceed $550.00, which was
allowed.
Professor Jackson offered a resolution relative to the Mining
Laboratory and the sending out of completed analysis of ores and
material, which was approved as follows:
There shall be two classes of deteriorations, chemical and
mineralogical, and there shall be two corresponding series.
Samples shall be taken up in each series in the order in
which they are received in that series. The results of each
deterioration shall be sent out as soon as the determination
is completed.
No further business appearing, the Board adjourned.
