                       February 24, 1868



The Board of Regents met at the call of the President, at the

Office of the Secretary of State.  Present:  H. G. Blasdel,

C. N. Noteware and A. N. Fisher.



A communication from the State Register under date January 7,

was read and ordered on file (see file "S").



On motion, the Register was instructed to obtain and present at

the United States Land Office confession or proof of abandonment

of filing on lands described in the first paragraph of said

communication.  Information concerning List No. 8 was noted and

the question of appeal was postponed until the fate of a bill now

before Congress, designed to cure objections named, is determin-

ed.



Concerning payment for excess of legal subdivisions of lands

selected at the instance of individuals, it was,



    RESOLVED, that in the opinion of this Board it is proper

    that the State Register require payment at the price of

    such excess and tender the same with his application to

    the United States Receiver.



Statement concerning lands which should have been included in

List No. 5 laid on this table.



A communication from the same under date February 18, 1868, was

read, ordered on file (see file "T") and question of appeal

laid on the table.



The report of the State Mineralogist, Rev. A. F. Whili, for the

year 1867 was presented, read and ordered on file (see file

"Mineralogist").



The minutes of previous meetings were read, amended and ordered

signed by President and Secretary.



On motion adjourned to meet at call of the President.
