EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING
January 29, 1955
The Executive Committee of the Board of Regents met for luncheon
at the Riverside Hotel on Saturday, January 29, 1955. The meet-
ing was called to order at 12:30 noon. Present: Regents Hardy,
Lombardi, Thompson, Ross; Comptroller Hayden and President Stout.
Max C. Fleischmann College of Agriculture
Mr. Edward Parsons, architect, was present to discuss this
item of business.
A formal agreement between the Board of Regents of the Uni-
versity and Mr. Parsons was discussed. It was pointed out
that it was the wish of the Fleischmann Foundation that this
agreement be made between the University and the architect.
Motion by Dr. Lombardi carried unanimously that Mr. Ross,
Chairman, be authorized to sign the agreement on behalf of
the Board of Regents, after Mr. Thompson has checked it with
the Chairman of the Max C. Fleischmann Foundation, and re-
ceived his approval, and provided any changes so made are
agreed upon by Mr. Parsons.
Legislature
It was agreed that the members of the Legislature be invited
by the President to visit the Campus in a body during the
Legislative Session.
Gift
Mr. Parsons offered a gift of tracing paper, valued at be-
ween $50 and $60, to the University. The Regents accepted
with thanks.
Land
Mr. Ross reported on his conversation with the owner of land
north of the Campus to ascertain its availability for expan-
sion of the University Campus.
Motion by Mr. Hardy carried unanimously that Mr. Ross proceed
with investigation of the property and possible terms of
acquiring it.
