The Board of Regents met in the Office of President Clark at 9
o'clock Saturday morning, January 15, 1927.  Present:  Chairman
Pratt, Mrs. Williams and Judge Brown of the Regents, and Presi-
dent Clark.  Absent:  Judge Talbot and Mr. Williams.

On the recommendation of the President, Judge Brown moved that
Professor Wilson be authorized immediately to erect a shed at
the University Farm, using his farm helpers for this purpose,
at a cost not to exceed $250, this shelter being necessary for
using during lambing season which will begin about February 10th.

President Clark recommended that Mr. Gorman and himself be
authorized to call for bids on the repairs to the barn at the
University Farm in accord with working plans which Mr. Fowler
expects to have ready Monday or Tuesday of next week, under-
standing (1)  that the plans to be drawn by Mr. Fowler shall
call for a metal roof, and (2)  that the bids will be opened
at the regular Board meeting on January 31, 1927 and (3)  that
in event Mr. Fowler is not winner of the contract he shall be
paid a reasonable fee for his time in preparing these plans.
Judge Brown moved that the recommendation of the President be
accepted and approved.  Vote:

It was the sense of the Board, informally given, that President
Clark might instruct the Comptroller that the salaries of Walter
S. Palmer and J. Claude Jones of the Mackay School of Mines staff
should go to $4500 each for the year beginning January 1, 1927,
even though official action would not be taken until the Board
meeting on January 31, 1927.
