01-10-1917 Volume OE - Page 14 Reno, Nevada January 10, 1917 The Executive Committee of the Board of Regents met in the Office of the President at 11:40 A.M. January 10, 1917. Present: Regents Baker, Sullivan, Abel and Vice President Lewers. Regent Abel presented the written resignation of Mr. Paul Gaston as Comptroller to take effect at the close of business January 11. On motion by Regent Baker, the resignation was accepted. Mr. Abel read a second communication from Mr. Gaston asking that the books and records pertaining to University accounts be placed in his custody and that he and his assistants be allowed the ex- clusive use of the rear room of the Comptroller's office. Regent Sullivan moved that the request be granted in so far as it would not interfere with the proper work of the Comptroller. Motion was carried. Regent Baker moved that C. H. Gorman be notified to begin work on Friday morning, January 12, 1917, his salary to begin from that date. On record vote the motion carried, all voting aye. Regent Sullivan moved that the bond of the Comptroller be fixed at $100,000. Motion was carried. Regent Sullivan moved that the bond of the Comptroller be placed in the hands of the Chairman of the Board. Motion was carried. The Committee adjourned subject to the call of the Chairman.
