The Board of Regents met at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, January 9, 1902

a full Board being present.



President Stubbs submitted his monthly report, which was received

and was placed on file.



The Secretary of the Board was instructed to transmit a letter

to the Southern Pacific Co., General Passenger Agents, tendering

the thanks of the Board of Regents for transportation furnished

to the faculty in attending the Farmers Institute held at Elko,

Nevada, on December 13 and 14, 1901.



On motion of W. W. Booher, seconded by W. E. F. Deal, the Insur-

ance Policy for $3500.00 in the Phoenix Insurance Co. on the

Mechanical building and machinery, expiring January 13, 1902,

and $1000.00 Policy in Pennsylvania on the Cottage, be given to

agents at Elko, Nevada.



The employment of Professor Henry R. Evans as Instructor in the

School of Mines at Seventy-Five dollars per month from November

9, 1901 by President Stubbs, is hereby approved.



Minutes of November 5, 1901 read and approved.



Recommendation for a brick Assay Office furnace on a requisition

of Professor Geo. J. Young was approved.



The requisitions of Professor Darling of January 6 and Professor

Frandsen of January 12 ($17.25) and Dr. Kennedy for $7.50 were

approved.
