The Board of Regents met at the call of the President. Present:
(not noted).
WHEREAS it appears by a communication of the State Register
dated December 1, 1869 that a necessity exits for a Draughtsman
in said Register's Office for the month of December, 1869;
THEREFORE,
RESOLVED, that the action of the Register in employing such
Draughtsman be approved and the salary fixed at $200, and
that said Register be authorized to employ a Draughtsman
at the same salary for the period of one month during the
year, 1870.
A communication dated January 3, 1870, transmitting List No. 2 of
State Selections, was read, and the selections on said list were
approved.
A communication from the same dated January 4, 1870 reporting
sales of land by the State was read and ordered on file.
A communication was received from the same source transmitting
a copy of advertisement of lands in U. S. Timber Reserve offered
for sale to the highest bidder.
WHEREAS at a meeting of the Board July 22, 1869 proposal No. 84
was accepted as the highest and best bid for the N.E. 1/4 of
N.E. of Section 34, and N.W. of N.W. of Section 35 in J15 N. of
R.18 E., and that said award was inadvertently omitted at said
meeting; THEREFORE, be it,
RESOLVED, that the Secretary be authorized to write the
word, "awarded" over bid No. 84 on the "Abstract of
Proposals", and notify the party accordingly.
