REGENTS APPOINT DOBYNS AS SECRETARY TO THE BOARD
LAS VEGAS The Board of Regents today unanimously approved the
appointment of Fini S. Dobyns as secretary to the Board. Dobyns, who was
appointed interim secretary in June, will be responsible for overseeing
day-to-day operations of the Board and its staff as well as keeping the
official records for the Board of Regents.
Ms. Dobyns has a long and outstanding history with the Board and we look
forward to continuing that relationship in her new leadership position,
said Board Chairman Bret Whipple.
Dobyns, who has worked for the Board for the past eight years, will be earning
an annual salary of $75,000. Prior to her appointment, she served as the
assistant administrative officer to the Board from 2000 to 2005 and as program
assistant from 1997 to 1999. Previously, she worked for the University of
Nevada, Reno and the Office of the Attorney General, in the worker compensation
fraud unit.
Dobyns earned an A.A.S degree in electronics technology and an A.A. degree in
business administration from Truckee Meadows Community College, as well as a
B.S. degree in managerial science from Sierra Nevada College.
