Klaich Promoted to Vice Chancellor
LAS VEGAS The Nevada Board of Regents unanimously approved the promotion
of Chief Counsel Daniel J. Klaich to vice chancellor of legal affairs.
Since joining the UCCSN, Dan Klaichs duties and responsibilities have
expanded and he continues to be an essential member of my staff, said
James E. Rogers, interim chancellor.
Klaich, who served as a regent from 1984 to 1997, joined the chancellors
staff in November 2004. He has been a member of the Nevada Bar for nearly 30
years and recently held the position of executive vice president and general
counsel for Clean Fuels Technology, Inc.
As vice chancellor of legal affairs, Klaich oversee legal activities throughout
the UCCSN as well as assists the chancellor in leading the Systems
legislative efforts.
Klaich earned his bachelor of science in accounting from the University of
Nevada, Reno, and his juris doctor from the University of Washington, Seattle.
He also holds a master of laws in taxation from New York University.
The Nevada Board of Regents is the elected, 13-member governing body for the
University and Community College System of Nevada. Comprising two
doctoral-granting universities, a state college, four comprehensive community
colleges and one environmental research institute, the UCCSN serves the
educational and job training needs of the nations fastest growing state.
As Nevadas only system of higher education, the UCCSN provides
educational opportunities to more than 100,000 students.
