Board Names Eardley as Interim Vice Chancellor

RENO, Nevada—The Nevada Board of Regents today appointed Larry Eardley as interim vice chancellor for finance and administration. Eardley replaces Dan Miles, who retired from the position at the end of July.

"Larry Eardley has worked for the UCCSN for nearly 20 years, and I’m confident in his experience and knowledge to manage the financial policies of the System,” said Board Chair Stavros S. Anthony.

A native of Ely, Nev., Eardley has served as the UCCSN’s director of budgets since 1998. "I'm honored to serve in this new capacity and I’m looking forward to working with the Regents and campuses during this transition period,” said Eardley.

Eardley earned his bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Nevada, Reno. Before joining the UCCSN, he served three years in the United States Army and later worked as an AVP Assistant Auditor with Nevada National Bank. He joined the UCCSN in 1984, working first as an internal auditor, and then being promoted to budget officer in 1987.

The Nevada Board of Regents is the elected, 13-member governing body for the University and Community College System of Nevada. Comprising two doctoral granting universities, a state college, four comprehensive community colleges and one environmental research institute, the UCCSN serves the educational and job training needs of the nation's fastest growing state. As Nevada's only system of higher education, the UCCSN provides educational opportunities to more than 90,000 students.
