Achievements in Academic Administration
Penn State Erie, The Behrend College

    · Implemented strategic planning with graduate, research, and land-grant mission.
    · Created thirteen research centers for regional economic development.
    · Created a nationally prominent manufacturing outreach program.
    · Secured funding for 200-acre Knowledge Park at Penn State Erie.
    · Secured funding for $30 million Research and Economic Development Center.
    · Raised approximately $65 million for endowments and physical facilities.
    · Secured support for nationally competitive salaries.
    · Created a School of Business with graduate programs.
    · Created a School of Engineering and Engineering Technology with graduate programs.
    · Created a School of Science and a School of Humanities and Social Sciences with additional baccalaureate programs.
    · Increased quality of student body.
    · More than doubled enrollment to 3,800.
    · Enhanced diversity of student body, faculty, and staff through targeted recruitment, retention, and programmatic initiatives.
    · Created an Honors Program and received approval for the Schreyer Honors College, the only campus college to have a four- year Schreyer Honors Program.
    · Enhanced out-of-classroom environment to support academic mission and promote a living-learning environment, e.g., created a national award-winning speakers series, a world-class music-at-noon series, a human relations series, an integrated counseling center, and an honors interest house.
    · Added forty new student organizations, created academic and service initiatives for Greek organizations, and established a comprehensive intramural program.
    · More than doubled the number of NCAA Division III athletic programs with Title IX compliance.
    · Helped to found the Allegheny Mountain College Conference for athletics.
    · Secured two campus master plans for physical development.
