Board of Regents Re-Elect Chair and Vice Chair

-- The Board of Regents today re-elected Thalia Dondero and Howard Rosenberg to serve as the Board's chair and vice chair. The second term for both Regents will start July 1, 2001 and end June 30, 2002.
Chair Dondero has served on the Board of Regents since 1996 and was the vice chair from 1999-2000. A resident of Las Vegas since 1943, she has served as chair of the Legislative Liaison Committee as well as the Teacher Education Task Force and the ad hoc Equity Space Study Committee.
Dondero was also an ex-officio member of the ad hoc CCSN Presidential Search Committee and created the Architecture, Finance and Academic Affairs Task Forces for Nevada State College at Henderson.
Elected to the Board in 1996, Howard Rosenberg is serving his second term as vice chair. He is also the co-chair of the Nevada State College Architecture Task Force and past chair of the Board Development Committee and the ad hoc Board Secretary Search Committee.
Regent Rosenberg is currently the director of advisement in the art department of the University of Nevada, Reno. He holds a bachelor's of science degree in education and fine arts from the Massachusetts College of Art; a master's degree in fine arts, education and design from the Graduate School of Education and Design, and a certificate of advanced studies in educational administration from Harvard University.
The Nevada Board of Regents is the elected, 11-member governing body for University and Community College System of Nevada.
