Miles Appointed Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration
LAS VEGAS -- The Board of Regents today unanimously approved the appointment of Daniel Miles to serve as the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration.
Miles joined the UCCSN in July 2000 when he was tapped by the Board to serve as an Interim Vice Chancellor for the same position. He had previously served as the Senate Fiscal Analyst for the State of Nevada's Legislative Counsel Bureau.
"The depth of Dan Miles' fiscal knowledge, coupled with his incredible legislative experience, makes him the best individual for this key position in the Chancellor's office," said Thalia Dondero, Board Chair. "Over the past six months with the UCCSN, he has proven to be an invaluable resource to our staff and eight institutions."
Miles began working for the State of Nevada in 1969 and has been with the Legislative Counsel Bureau since 1977. He has held several positions including Chief Assistant Budget Administrator in the Budget Division, and Deputy Fiscal Analyst for the Legislative Counsel Bureau.
A native Nevadan, Miles was raised in Carson City and earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Reno.
Comprising two doctoral-granting universities, four comprehensive community colleges and one environmental research institution, the University and Community College System of Nevada serves the educational and job training needs of the nation's fastest growing state. As Nevada's only system of higher education, the UCCSN provides educational opportunities to nearly 100,000 students.
