Regents Honor Top Nevadans
LAS VEGAS -- The Board of Regents today named recipients for the 1999
Distinguished Nevadan award as well as recipients for honorary doctorates and associate degrees.
The Distinguished Nevadan award represents the most prestigious award conferred
by the Board of Regents. It is bestowed upon prominent individuals who have made significant
achievements that have contributed to the cultural, scientific or social advancement of
Nevada. The recipients will be honored at special Regents' Receptions in Reno and Las Vegas
in May.
Recipients to be recognized at the Reno reception include:
- Joyce Hollister
- Jack Streeter
- Bishop Vincent Lee Thompson (posthumously)
Recipients to be recognized at the Las Vegas reception include:
- Particia Mulroy
- Milton I. Schwartz
- Steve & Elaine Wynn
In addition, honorary doctorate and associate degree recipients were announced.
These degrees will be conferred during the May commencement.
