Board Bids Farewell to Four Regents
Reno, NV -- The Board of Regents will celebrate tonight the outstanding record of service from four Regents whose terms end in December.
Regents Shelley Berkley, James Eardley, Madison Graves, II and Nancy Price were honored earlier today with Board resolutions commending these servants of higher education for their years of service to the Board and Nevada's two universities, four community colleges and one research institute.
"It is with great sorrow that I saw my esteemed colleagues attend their last Board meeting today," said Board Chair Jill Derby. "Over the past six years, these four individuals have made profound contributions toward improving student access and building quality programs for Nevada's state system of higher education. It has been a joy and an honor to serve beside them."
A reception honoring the four outgoing Regents will be held tonight at the Hidden Valley Country Club in Reno. A second reception will be held at the Las Vegas Country Club on December 3.
Comprised of two doctoral-granting universities, four comprehensive community colleges and one environmental research institution, the University and Community College System of Nevada serves the educational and job training needs of the nation's fastest growing state. As Nevada's only system of higher education, the UCCSN provides educational opportunities to more than 82,000 students.
