Position Announcement
For
Lead Analyst
The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) invites applications and
nominations for the position of Lead Analyst
. This is a renewable, full-time, non-tenured, administrative position and
reports to the Assistant Director of Information and Application Services. The
position will be located at System Computing Services (SCS), Reno, Nevada.
The NSHE is comprised of eight institutions:
two universities, a state college, four community colleges, and a research
institute. The public system of higher education in Nevada continues to
experience rapid growth, with significant challenges and opportunities in
serving 100,000 students and 12,000 employees. .
NSHE is entering the second year of a multiyear project to implement PeopleSoft
Campus Solutions for all of its institutions. The Lead Analyst will be an
integral member of the implementation team. The position is responsible for
leading a team of PeopleSoft developers with varying skill levels.
SALARY:
Minimum starting salary $85,000/year.
APPROXIMATE STARTING DATE:
October 15, 2009
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate must have an earned Bachelors degree from an
accredited institution. A degree in Information Systems or a related field is
preferred. A minimum of five (5) years progressive work experience directly
applicable to the position is required. Alternatively, the candidate with ten
or more years of direct work and/or supervisory experience in the areas
described herein, in a large corporation or higher education setting with at
least two years of formal education or training in computer information
systems, may substitute work experience for a bachelors degree.
In addition, the candidate must have experience with PeopleSoft applications.
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with the PeopleSoft
Campus Solutions application.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
: Successful candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and
abilities. Applicants must address each of the following in their letter of
application when applying for this position.

Experience implementing and supporting a PeopleSoft application;
·
Experience leading a team of developers;
·
Excellence in the following: analysis and problem solving skills, creativity,
verbal and written communication skills, tact, interpersonal skills;
·
Experience working in a team environment;
·
Ability to follow established processes and procedures;
·
Ability and interest to learn new techniques, tools, and methodologies related
to information systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties of this position will include, but not be limited to, the following
areas of responsibility within System Computing Services:

Provide advice and make recommendations to senior management regarding best
practices for ERP application support;
·
Provide advice and guidance to less experienced staff regarding best practices
for ERP application design and development;
·
Design, develop, test, support, document, and implement business applications
that enhance the functionality of an ERP application;
·
Train users and other appropriate individuals on the use of the applications
developed;
·
Employ and adhere to appropriate project management methodology in leading or
mentoring large projects;
·
Communicate with SCS colleagues and with campus customers throughout the
processes of designing, developing, and maintaining applications;
·
Limited travel with overnight stays may be required in support of activities
related to this position.
