Scott G. Wasserman was appointed to serve as chief executive officer and special counsel to the Board of Regents on September 17, 2009. Previously, he served as chief executive officer of the Board of Regents since May 2006. As chief executive officer, he oversees the day-to-day operations of the Board and their staff.

Prior to joining the NSHE, Mr. Wasserman served as a Deputy Attorney General in the Civil Division of the Office of the Attorney General, representing the State Board of Examiners, the Department of Administration and the Department of Personnel. Prior to that position, he served the Nevada State Legislature as Chief Deputy Legislative Counsel.

Mr. Wasserman earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Connecticut and a J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. Mr. Wasserman is licensed to practice law in Nevada and California.
