A fourth generation Nevadan, Dorothy Gallagher has served as Regent for 22 years. After retiring in 2002, Mrs. Gallagher returned to the Board in 2004 when her appointed predecessor chose not to run in the 2004 election.

She is currently chair of the Appeals Committee for the Millennium Scholarship, and a member of the Cultural Diversity and Security Committee, the Board Development Committee, and the ad hoc Technology Committee.
