Regent Thalia Dondero was elected to the Board of Regents in 1996. She served one successful term as Board vice chair, and prior to that served two terms as chair. She is currently chair of the Investment Committee and serves on the Student & Academic Affairs Committee, the ad hoc Health Sciences System Committee, and the ad hoc TMCC President Search Committee.

Regent Dondero has been a resident of Las Vegas since 1943. She served 20 years with the Clark County Commissioners, including three terms as chair and one term as vice chair. Currently she serves on the Summerlin Hospital Board of Trustees and the Bureau of Land Management Resource Advisory Council.
