Regent Stavros Anthony was elected in 2002 as the Board's representative for Clark County, District 12. He served as Board chair for two consecutive terms. Regent Anthony currently serves as chair of the Student & Academic Affairs Committee. He is also a member of the Cultural Diversity & Security Committee and the Board Development Committee, as well as the Presidential Evaluation Committee (DRI).

A 28-year veteran of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Regent Anthony is a captain charged with overseeing the Personnel Bureau. He and his wife Bernadette are the proud parents of two daughters—Irene and Elizabeth. Additionally, he is the author of "Nights of Fire," a depiction of the civil unrest in Las Vegas in 1992 in the aftermath of the Rodney King verdict.
