Dr. Andrea Anderson was appointed by Governor Jim Gibbons to serve on the Board of Regents on August 31, 2009. She currently serves on the Board's Audit Committee and the Cultural Diversity Committee, as well as the Academic, Research and Student Affairs Committee.

Dr. Anderson holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership from UNLV and has over 26 years of experience in higher education, mostly with the College of Southern Nevada. She retired from the NSHE in early 2009.

A well known Boulder City community leader, Dr. Anderson served two terms on the Boulder City Council (2001-2009) and was a member of the Southern Nevada Water Authority Board of Directors, the Colorado River Commission and the Governor's Commission on Aging.

She is currently a member of the American Association of University Women and the Nevada Association of Career and Technical Educators.

Dr. Anderson and her husband of 44 years, Bruce, have three sons and three grandsons.
